About us

Freerider Sport Events

Is a Sports Association which aims to make it possible to combine physical disability and winter sports.

The primary objective behind Freerider is the integration of the disabled person through skiing which, when applied with the necessary training and equipment, lead to the annulment of disability allowing the aggregation of “disabled” and “non-disabled”. Freeriders want to bring new people to skiing and simultaneously complete the training for those who already practice this activity through an advanced methodology and rich in content, tested and proven over the years by Freerider’s staff, composed by teachers, technicians and highly qualified people.

Freerider was conceived by a group of daring people who love the mountains, in 2001.

The expansion of the project through word of mouth has made it possible to recruit members and professionals who share a passion for the mountains and significant experience in the voluntary sector, but above all to involve companies that, with their economic and technical contributions have allowed the concretization initiative and growth.

At the conclusion of this process it was born the first edition of FREERIDER SKI TOUR.

The FREERIDER PROMO TOUR was created to support the SKI TOUR realizing a communication campaign where the winter season is presented.
With this new project, Freerider was able to reach and engage sports associations, the medical community, volunteers.

In 2002/2003 begins the First Edition of FREERIDER SKI TOUR with three courses attended by 40 people.

In the 2003/2004 season, the success of SKI TOUR continues and expands managing to involve more people and even new ski resorts that want to become headquarters of the courses.
We realized that the dream could be turned into reality: people with physical disabilities and people without disabilities can ski together. It can be done!
